Bouquet for Bleeding Hearts

A bouquet of Lamprocapnos spectabilis, colloquially known as Bleeding Hearts consumes a discarded semi-automatic rifle. As mass shootings and police violence become a seemingly weekly occurrence, this piece is intended to call attention to the ever growing plague of gun violence in the US. Though drawings of like this one, the language of flowers is brought out of the realm of the cliche and romantic, but can be interpreted as a modern symbology for dealing with contemporary issues.
